Jeff Redman grew up in the small town of Loves Park, Ilinois. Just outside the medium sized town of Rockford, Illinois and about 90 minutes from any major city. It was in this environment that Jeff's love of theater began. As a middle school student at Marshall Middle School (Go Muskies!), he responded to a request for young boys to play orphans in the High School production of Oliver! Stepping onstage for that first show, Jeff became changed forever. From that moment forward he looked for every opportunity to perform; taking acting classes through the local YMCA, summer camps, and church plays.

It was at Harlem High School (Go Huskies!) that his career really took off, being involved in every play and musical (except one - it was a personal protest) for four years: You Didn't Say it was Haunted, A Chorus Line, Cinderella, Trifles, Deadwood Dick, The Importance of Being Earnest, Harvey, and You Can't Take it With You.

Jeff attended Carroll College (Go Pioneers!) in Waukesha, Wisconsin - just outside Milwaukee. A theater major specializing in acting and directing, he learned about design, theater history, and improvisation through hard work and determination. Jeff worked on every mainstage show and scores of studio shows in different capacities throughout college. He graduated in 1993 with a Bachelors degree and worked for the next two years as an actor and Stage Manager with Milwaukee area theaters American Inside Theater, Theater X, Caught in the Act and back at his alma matter, Carroll College.

It was working on a play for the Times Theater Company that he met Mrs. Redman (her name at the time was NOT Mrs. Redman). He decided that he wanted to find a way to work in theater and follow his other dream of educating future generations (and get paid!) so he became a teacher and as soon as he stepped into the classroom, he knew teaching theater was where he belonged.

In 2003, Jeff received his Masters of Arts degree from the University of St. Thomas (Go.....Tommies?). In that same year, Working as a teacher by day and a theater practicioner by night, Jeff founded the Workhouse Theatre Company (WTC) in north Minneapolis and was the artistic director for the next 8 years. Jeff worked with a dedicated group of theater practitioners to create an independent theater company in an underserved and culturally devoid section of Minneapolis. Working with resident Duane Atter, they transformed a vancant former auto garage into a fully functioning performance space seating 75 patrons. Over the next several years Workhouse Theater Company grew from a series of readings to producing a full season of theater. In 2008, WTC received IVEY award recognition for Overall Excellence in Theater.

In 2009 Jeff and Mrs. Redman founded New Actors Playhouse, a performing arts enrichment program for area kids.

In 2010, Mrs. Redman thought it would be an adventure to travel overseas and teach. So, Jeff currently resides in Dhaka, Bangladesh where he teaches at the American International School, Dhaka. Injecting Drama is a way for Jeff to connect to other educators, share his experiences, and make sure that another generation of students have access to an engaging school experience.
